The bearings in wheels consist of many intricate parts, from the bearing units used in the wheel hubs, to the individual bearings that form a part of this. In order for the vehicle you are driving to be safe on the road, you need to have all parts working together properly – and this very much includes the bearings. They might be small parts, but this doesn’t make them any less important. A loose bearing could cause multiple difficulties on the road and could even cause your wheel to come off, causing enormous damage if you are driving.
When you have wheel bearings that have come loose or are causing issues, you will usually be able to tell straight away. The car may make an unusual noise, you might hear rattling, or you might be able to feel that something has come loose when steering. Whatever it is you notice, check the wheel bearings immediately.
