Brake pads help to prevent friction when braking in your vehicle. They are in important part of driving a car or other vehicle and when they begin to wear out, you will need to replace them for your safety. If you are starting to notice any of the following signs, you may need new brake pads:
- Noise when braking. You may hear your brakes squeaking, especially when you press on the brakes hard. This is one of the main indicating factors.
- The car pulls slightly to one side when you brake. It may feel like you have to steer harder in the opposite direction.
- The brake pad is visibly wearing away. In many cars, you can see the brake pads when you look through the wheel at the calliper. It shouldn’t look like it is less than 1/4 of an inch in thickness.
