How to Keep your Driving Licence Up to Date

Your driving licence is a key document that is very important to you. Not only is it a way of showing you are legally able to drive, it is also an important form of ID that you might use on a regular basis. If you move house, change your name, or in other way change your details, you will need to register this change with the DVLA and get a new driving licence.

You can apply for a new driving licence in one of two ways:

  1. Applying online. You will fill in all of your details online and will request to update your licence in this way. This is the quickest way of updating your details with the DVLA.
  2. By post. You will need to request a form and send it off the the DVLA to make sure you can renew your driving licence.

Remember that if you do not keep your driving licence up to date, you can risk getting a fine.
