It can’t be over-emphasised how important a spare tyre is. Imagine this scenario: you are driving alone in terrible weather conditions. Suddenly you realise that you have a puncture and you need to change your tyre. The breakdown company you call cannot reach you for another two hours and you are in a hard-to-reach location as it is. This is why it’s so important to carry a spare tyre with you at all times.
Make sure your car comes with a spare tyre if you are buying a new one. If not, put one in the boot so that you will always have it with you. The spare tyre does not have to be perfect but it does need to be functional, so you might want to try it out first and make sure it works. Fit it onto your car a drive a few miles to see how it is. You might also want the extra practice in fitting a spare tyre if you aren’t very confident!
